Trundled feet, wet suits and round rolling wheels

The winner of the elite sprint race seen exiting above
won the elite event. Great crowd. Kids loved it.

Two young girls, in rain gear, holding up a cardboard sign that read “Go Grandpa” formed a poignant picture in Stanhope last Saturday morning.
The two young girls, Ashley and Kylie Newman, were clearly a little overwhelmed at the sheer numbers of triathlon riders, gear-grinding by their perch. They stood in the rain with their rapidly deteriorating cardboard sign, patiently waiting with their parents for granddad to come flying by on his bike.
They barely had time to yell and wave as grandpa, just out of the water, made the turn to the open road.

The short shinnied steps, stuttered between the myriad squeaks of rubber on DecoTurf are almost imperceptible to the eye.
We know they’re extant, because those high pitched squeals of rubber sole reverberate off the stadium seats.
Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic are the top four tennis players in the world.
This year all four advanced to the semi-finals – with glowering Scot, Murray and Fed Ex meeting in Sunday’s final of the Canadian Open last weekend. Murray won. Deserved it too did the staunch descendant of William Wallace.
I was there for all three matches.

The neighbors car got stole last night; we never paid them any mind.
And Mary says she's gonna lock the door; from now on when we go away.
I've been walking around this farm; wondering if it's time...
Time to get a gun.
Who's gotta' gun?
Well Fred Eaglesmith for one.
But Roger Federer got a gun - too.
Loaded, lethal and lovely.
The pundits are beginning to wonder.
if Rodge the Dodge has past “it.”
It - being his prime.
Writers, pundits and sports' bible belters are idiots. Of course.
